Speaking more on signing LYZZA says, “I'm really excited to be part of a lineage of many exemplary (black) artists that have made their mark on music by breaking the mould. Big Dada feels like a movement towards championing uniqueness and I'm happy to be a part of it.”
“‘Lucky You’ is about granting someone forgiveness even if they haven't asked you for it, for your own peace of mind” explains LYZZA when discussing the new single. Over the last few years LYZZA has collaborated with a host of impressive names such as Amnesia Scanner, Nicolas Jaar during one of his art residencies and Mykki Blanco whom she toured with for several years. Impressive press support comes from Crack Magazine who included her in their ‘25 Artists shaping the future of music’ list, Pitchfork and a double page feature in The Face in collaboration with Adidas titled: ‘The Superstars of Tomorrow’.
She’s made a name for herself within the left-field music scene as a formidable performer at high-profile festivals including Sonar, Melt! and Primavera Sound, with Pitchfork recognising her as one of the “Best of Primavera Sound” that year. Just last month she played a stand out show at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton. Previous radio highlights include a BBC 6 Interview with Tom Ravenscroft plus support from BBC 1 & Radio 1 and a monthly NTS residency which allowed LYZZA to showcase her eclectic and varied music tastes.
‘Lucky You’ is out on Big Dada with more new music coming soon.
